Guarantees and risks
All assets of HUG’S portfolios are formed and safekept on personal accounts of customers.
When considering what broker to choose we evaluated the risks of Interactive Brokers (IB) based on the information on guarantees, risks and the protection of clients' assets obtained on this broker's website.
According to Interactive Brokers:
- The assets of Interactive Brokers clients are insured by US Securities Investor Protection Corporation (SIPC) for up to $ 500,000 (of which up to $ 250,000 is a cash guarantee). Warranties apply to all customers regardless of their nationality.
- Money in the accounts of IB customers are also insured by Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) for up to $ 2,500,000 per customer. In total, cash in the client’s account with Interactive Brokers is insured for up to $ 2,750,000 and securities up to $ 500,000.
